If concerned about the security of sending credit card information over the internet, there is an additional step you can take.  Set up an account at S-Mail, an email provider which uses military-level encryption if both sender and recipient have S-Mail accounts.  Here's what you need to do:

1) Use Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher
2) Go to http://s-mail.com/
3) Click Sign up now
4) Install Microsoft Java then restart computer, if necessary
5) Create account
6) Send email with credit card information only to thehostel@s-mail.com
